Brent Hill

Brent has over 20 years experience working in financial markets. He has worked in both investment banking and interdealer broking in Sydney, New Zealand, Hong Kong and London. His experience spans arranging foreign exchange deals for the world’s biggest financial institutions to advising companies and individuals on managing foreign exchange risks. Brent also has experience in the equine industry working for New Zealand’s largest racing stables at Te Akau Stud and also working in horse syndication in Hong Kong. Brent is RG146 qualified to give personal advice on foreign exchange products.

Kane Bourke

A director on the OMF Australia Pty Ltd Board, Kane started his career on the FX desk at National Australian Bank in 1996. He has run trading portfolios in Sydney, New Zealand and Hong Kong across a range of markets including spot and forward FX, interest rate derivatives and cross currency swaps. While based in Hong Kong, Kane ran the US Rates business for the French bank, Societe Generale. Kane holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce, an MBA, and a Masters degree in Accounting. He is also a JP, and is RG146 qualified to give personal advice on financial products.

Michael Peters

Michael started his careerpost studies in a commercial banking environment at ANZ before joining OMF New Zealand in 2013. He previously held internship roles at Tudor Capital (London) and ABN Amro. He holds extensive experience in the equity and commodities markets with particular emphasis on the dairy, power and carbon. Michael spent a number of years on the Carbon & Energy desk in Auckland before relocating to Australia in 2016 to manage the institutional commodities desk in our Sydney Office. Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland where he majored in Finance and Economics.

Sam Cox

Sam graduated from the University of Otago in 2002 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance. He started his career on the wholesale foreign exchange desk at the Bank of New Zealand before going on to hold positions with BGC in both London and Sydney which included interest rate derivative broker and the managing the Kiwi Swap Desk from 2012-2014. He joined the OMF Wellington team in 2015 before returning to Sydney where he is now a Senior Interest Rate Broker for OMF Australia.

Matt Blackwell

Matt started his career in Corporate NZ Treasury before moving into a trading career covering products including interest rate options, cross currency swaps, corporate bonds and credit derivatives. Matt has held several positions in New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong before moving to Singapore in 2005 where he was appointed Head of Rates Trading and Structuring for an Asian bank. In 2006, Matt moved to Deutsche Bank Asia, where he was appointed Managing Director and Co-Head of Fixed Income, Currencies, Credit & Commodity Sales. Joining OMF in 2014, Matt brings over 20 years financial markets experience to the firm.

Colin Churchouse

Colin Churchouse is Chairman of OMF and a director of the holding company, OM Holdings Ltd. He has been in the futures, foreign exchange and investment banking business, in managing and directorship roles, for the past 20 years after being involved in commodity trading and exporting, mainly as a principal. From 1990 until 2001 he was a director of JP Morgan NZ Limited and its predecessor Ord Minnett Holdings NZ Limited and various subsidiaries thereof. He was a Director of the New Zealand Futures & Options Exchange from 1986 until its merger with the Sydney Futures Exchange in 1993.

Jules Stephan

Jules started his career in 1985 at Barclays Bank before leaving in 1987 to take up the role of Manager, Money Market at Bankers Trust. Other roles at Bankers Trust included Manager, Foreign Exchange and Manager of Capital Management. In 1996 he was made a Director and board member of Bankers Trust NZ. Jules was on the Asset Allocation committee of BT Funds Management NZ from 1991 and joined the Board in 1996 where he remained until Deutsche Bank sold them in 2000. He was also a Director and board member of Deutsche Bank NZ until retirement in June 2000.

Len

Len has significant senior executive and company director experience in the financial and energy markets. He was the inaugural CEO of the NZ Futures and Options Exchange and was also CEO of ASX Derivatives and a member of the ASX senior management team.

He is currently Chairman of Liberty Financial Ltd and the NZ Centre for Gifted Education Ltd, the Minds for Minds Charitable Trust and Summit Point Ltd. Len is also a director on the board of a number of other private companies.

Len has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and an MBA (with Distinction); he is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and a Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Len is also a member of the New Zealand Markets Disciplinary Tribunal.

Nigel Brunel

Nigel is one of the original OMF team, joining the firm in 1986. He has considerable experience within the financial markets with particular emphasis on renewable energy, commodity, dairy and equity futures markets. In 1996, Nigel relocated to UBS Warburg in Sydney to manage the Equity Derivative division. From 1998, he ran his own trading company for 9 successful years before returning to OMF in 2007. Nigel is a prominent figure in the NZ carbon and dairy markets and travels throughout Asia and NZ, conducting presentations that educate and advise corporates involved in Emissions Trading Schemes and the dairy markets.

Kenny Campbell is Director - Wholesale Markets, Private Clients Wellington at OMF. He has over 14 years’ experience in the financial markets covering Interest Rate Futures and Derivatives. Prior to joining OMF in 2004, Kenny headed the futures desk at Fixed Interest Securities NZ Limited, whilst also covering a variety of other products. With his team at FIS they built the first New Zealand based offshore Futures desk, covering the major offshore products. Kenny’s role at OMF is to oversee and grow the Wellington business.

Leo Clifford

Leo Clifford has over twenty six years experience working for large international brokerage companies in both the New Zealand and Australian financial markets including his two years as a money market dealer. He joined OMF in 2003 where deals primarily in the wholesale markets, facilitating transactions between banks and other licensed financial institutions. His time in the markets has given him a sound understanding of global economics, interest rates and currencies.

Sam joined OMF in November 2013 and brings extensive experience in the global financial markets with particular expertise in the NZ OTC interest rate derivatives (interest rate swaps) markets. He graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma of Finance from the University of Otago in 2002 before going on to hold trading positions in New Zealand, London and Sydney. Sam has held positions managing NZD and AUD interest rate derivatives portfolios for ASB and Westpac, and most recently held a senior position with JP Morgan managing NZD interest rate portfolios.

Brent Weenink

Brent has over 25 years legal and management experience in the financial markets, including several public sector appointments specialising in financial markets regulation. He began his career in private practice with Phillips Fox in Wellington, and then had an extensive period overseas as General Counsel/Managing Director of a private bank and trustee company. He returned to Wellington in 2006 to head up the NZ Legal & Compliance operations of an Australasian derivatives broking house, before joining OMF in 2015. He holds an LLM (Hons) and is a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
